Last Post of 2009!

So its shit! The year is gonna end, in some time....does it matter? it matters to no one, just another reason to party their asses off. Thats all there is to it. No one gives a damn about the year! People only give damns about themselves!
Why am I sounding pissed? well, maybe because I didn't shit today, or maybe because my feet are numb, or maybe its just you, you're thinking I am pissed but actually I am not. Oh hell, it could be anything! That is not the point however, the point is that there is no point in getting drunk on new year's eve. Then again there is no point in getting drunk ever, if you ask me! But just for those desperate ones out there, if you really want to celebrate do it on 24th Jan, Global Belly Laugh Day. Now that's a real reason to celebrate! Isn't it? I bet you didn't even know about this, I'll "LoL" to that.
Anyway, coming to think of it everything that you have read so far was pointless, just an excuse to wish everyone....well what the heck, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! :D

P.S Dont make new year resolutions, they are PATHETIC!

It's Christmas!!

Well, once again it’s that lovely time of the year…
A time for celebration,
A time for decoration,
A time for delicious food,
A time for a generous mood,
A time when carolers sing,
A time when silver bells ring,
A time for laughter, a time for joy,
A time for Santa to get you a new toy!
A time for cookies, turkey and cake,
A time for being good, for goodness sake,
But most important of all the above,
A time for you to care….and a time for you to love!
Yes it’s Christmas Time, one of my favorite times of the year. Everything about this time just adds up to be great. But unfortunately this year, the fun and joy was dampened by the so called “War” I talk of, in simpler words, the exams. It’s been difficult for the entire force. But what’s done is done. No time to lament, its Christmas!! And as I am typing, Santa’s probably flying overhead somewhere! [it’s 3am Christmas morning]
So here’s wishing all the followers, members and everyone visiting this blog and everyone else, a very Merry Christmas! Have a great time filled with love, joy, happiness and LOTS OF PRESENTS! :D
Wait! What’s that I hear?.....a sound, are those……..bells??
I hear bells!! Wait a minute….could that be? What the!
Holy mother of hell!!! It’s not Santa Claus!!! It’s the night guard with bells instead of a whistle …… PATHETIC!!!!

The Twilight Saga continues

Isn't it amazing, that the one thing you've really been waiting for, turns out to be the hardest to get. It happens a lot with me. Last time I remember, it was Grand Theft Auto IV. When I finally went to get a copy, I learn't that it would be three more months before I could lay my hands on one. Then it took me an entire night to set it up. And it wasn't exactly easy.

This time, it was New Moon. I had fallen in love with Twilight. I was desperately waiting for New Moon, but it wasn't coming anywhere near this city. Then Twilight came in its place. New Moon was initially two and finally three weeks late. Our first attempt was at 9:10, Inox, CityCentre. They had not received their print yet. Apparently, we had already been warned about this by BookMyShow. But, we didn't take heed. Then straight off to Adlabs, Sector-V. We got the tickets and spent three hours at the CafeCoffeeDay there. At 12:30, as we were about to enter, we were told that there was some trouble and that the show would start half an hour late. Finally, about twenty minutes later, we were called in. This was the first show in the city and we were the first ones to enter.

The movie is beautiful. And Isabella Swan. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh Bella... She is hotter than Lara Croft and Hermione Granger. And the next movie Eclipse, is on its way, just half a year away.

Just a whiff...

Have you ever smelled a book ? Well if you’ve not, then you haven’t really read one. You could’ve seen, touched, examined, studied or even memorized a book; but you haven’t read it until you’ve smelled it. I myself started smelling with Enid Blyton when I was seven and then realized that everything else had only been taught to me.

Every book has its own smell. There’s nothing like a new book smell. Brand new paperbacks, cheap and light, smell so inviting. There are the ones that you’ve been waiting for, which make you restless. And then there are the promising ones which you just couldn’t leave. The first edition hardbacks, they smell so proud, to be treasured and displayed. Coffee-table books, hard and heavy, smell expensive, waiting to be lifted and admired. Children’s books, with lots of pictures smell like christmas and always cheer you up. Teenage books smell of adventures and fantasies. Comic books and graphic novels, smell of colours, with each colour adding its own essence. Bengali books usually smell cheap. Newspapers smell fresh in the morning and stale the very next day. Magazines smell of seasons. Sharadiya editions of Bengali magazines smell of the pujo. School books stink of exams and the exercise books reek of teachers. Erotica smells exotic and forbidden.

Books take up the smells around them. Books smell of the shops they were bought from. Books by your bed smell loved and cared. Books on shelves smell somewhat lonely. Books in the attic smell abandoned. And that one book lost, lying in a corner, smells forgotten. Books from travels smell of faraway lands. Books also smell of trains and airplanes. Books from Howrah Station smell like the holidays. Library books smell of their libraries.

Books also lend their smell to some places. College Street smells of books. The Calcutta Book Fair smells of books and joy. But it used to smell so much better when it was in Maidan. Then there were the bookshops in the old New Market, they used to smell fascinating. Now they smell dead. There are a few other places which still smell wonderful. One is the Oxford Bookstore Gallery at 17, Park Street and the other is Chuckerverty, Chatterjee & Sons at 15, College Street.

Older books smell better. Here, books are like wine. The finest also happens to be the oldest. But they must be aged properly. The finest fragrances come from wooden cabinets, with rusty hinges and cracked windows. And a hint of dust, of the finest kind, that is just waiting to be blown off. All enclosed in stone walls. What remains then is candle light, leather couches, wooden floors and a crackling fireplace.

Some books always smell special. My absolute favourites are my oldest Famous Fives and Secret Sevens. You cannot possibly compare them with the ones that you get nowadays, printed right here. These just don’t smell right. They’re like the Mona Lisa on a calendar. Then there are those books which just keep smelling better. Some of you may feel the same for your Harry Potter or Twilight books. I myself, have my Artemis Fowl books.

Some books don’t smell at all. These things are called electronic books. You can’t hold them, you can’t smell them, you can only stare at them. You wouldn’t want one for your birthday. They are never really owned, just saved. They are not kept in libraries. They can never be shared, only copied. They can never get old. They are not books at all.

Fight the Dragon.....Experience the Real !!!

Have you guys ever thought or considered thinking on the life of marines??
Well maybe you have, but personally I don't think so (nothing personal)....!!!!
The fact, as you see, is that gamers overemphasize the concept of marines in games nowadays. They make it look totally unreal, something which can never happen in real life.
If you guys have played Counter-Strike or Call of Duty or any other games of the sort, you will know what I mean by "unreal".

Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising is a totally different type of a game, first person shooter. The story of this game is based on an all-out war which rose out of China's surprising invasion of an island, rich in oil and other mineral resources, which originally belonged to the USSR territory. The US marines were deployed on the island (called Skira), after the USSR requested aid from the United States, concerning the above matter. This is a totally different game, by which I mean, different from any other games I have played or seen.

With all due respect to the legendary game, Counter-Strike, it (CS) does not unveil any amount of reality, and that is what many gamers want to achieve.
Anyone who likes playing games, will want something realistic. This game is the one that defines realistic warfare.
War between marines and opposite party (faction irrelevant) is not like Call of Duty, where you can take in any amount of bullets, and can surprisingly heal over time. Compared to the above, this game will show you that one bullet in the right angle and the right place is all what takes to gain advantage in the battlefield. If you gamers have ever noticed, in other games, leniency is provided, i.e, shoot a bit above the head and its a headshot.
Shooting an enemy ain't so easy, especially, when the other person is a real human, not a game bot. Say for example, you are out there fighting a war. The first thing in your mind is not going to be "I will kill every terrorist and be a hero"; but to be careful and evade bullets becomes the 1st priority, and shooting, the second.

This game specializes in a combination of strategic as well as action gameplay.
Game graphics are pretty much like or better than Call of Duty 4:MW.
You are the team leader of your platoon (4 personnel) which is one of 15 other platoons, divided under five divisions. If you believe in strategy first and action second, this is the game for you people. You have airstrike and artillery at your disposal.

1. A planned section with use of support from the HQ itself.
2. The right place to flank the enemy from.
3. And the right tactics........

..........Can tip the battle to your favor. I prefer this game, because it is not simply a war and we are supposed to just shoot the hell out of enemies (bots), but because it facilitates the gamers to plan their way out of a battle victorious.
Statutory Warning : This above game is a bit too realistic, exposure of blood and gore is present and playing this game with an aggressive mentality may cause hypertension and the like. Play this game at your own risk.
